The phrase itself is rooted in an ancient Shih family tradition of involvement in the healing arts. Melanie Shih's great-great-grandfather owned and ran a pharmacy by this very name in China many years ago. Melanie has chosen to carry on this tradition and so has assembled an impressive collection of many of the original herbal teas and preparations that were sold in that Chinese pharmacy generations ago.
